Gershon Wolfe, Ph.D.

Gershon Wolfe builds symbolic objects that generate musical phrases with dense texture and a wide dynamic range, on the belief that beautiful music need not be difficult to create or to play. Graph rewriting, symmetry, and self-similarity let an elaborate system collapse to a few elegant blocks. Those blocks are the basis of his algorithmic work and of the topological-scene grammars inside Contour.

He holds a B.S. in chemistry from UCLA, a Ph.D. in physical chemistry from the University of Washington, and a postdoctoral fellowship in molecular dynamics at UCSF. He received the Royal Dutch Shell Fellowship and the NIH Molecular Biophysics Training Award.

Brian Wolfe

Brian Wolfe builds high-performance systems. His background is quantitative finance and language design: Markowitz portfolio construction, ARCH/GARCH volatility models, and semi-non-parametric optimization, plus domain-specific languages in Lisp for symbolic AI, forecasting, and real-time processes.

He is a full-stack engineer who has a long experience in client-server systems, LAMP, and generating real-time data applications. He holds a B.S. in psychology from the University of Utah.
